August 28, 2009 — County Information Resources Agency’s (CIRA) Board of Directors selected Sierra Systems Group Inc. and Metatomix, Inc. to optimize information exchange for Texas county governments. CIRA’s CountyConnect project uses the Sierra Systems / Metatomix solution to share business-related information between all county agencies.
CIRA, an inter-local government agency supported by the Texas Association of Counties (TAC), provides central, cooperative and coordinated assistance and services to TAC association members in all matters relating to information resources and technologies. CIRA is led by a Board of Directors appointed by the president of TAC.
“The Texas Association of Counties is committed to assisting counties in the use of innovative technology to provide taxpayers with the highest levels of county government service,” said Gayle Latham, director of TAC’s County Information Resources Agency. “We chose the Sierra Systems-Metatomix solution because of their combined expertise and proven experience in helping government IT organizations optimize the flow of information that is the lifeblood of critical services such as justice administration.”
“We’re delighted to see the Florida 20th Judicial Circuit recognized for its outstanding accomplishments in improving the efficiency and cost effectiveness of the criminal justice system,” said Metatomix Director of Product Management Christian Barr. “The implementation of the Active Warrant Alert Calendar system in Lee County has allowed officials to successfully identify dozens of criminals and better protect the local communities.”
