October 20, 2009 — Metatomix, Inc., a leading provider of semantic solutions to justice and public safety, financial services, manufacturing and life sciences organizations, has been awarded a contract by the NATO Consultation, Command and Control Agency (NC3A) to collaborate in the development of a data integration framework using semantic technology that allows a 360 degree view of vessels of interest within a maritime scenario. Managed by NC3A under the direction of NATO’s Allied Command Transformation (ACT), this initiative, contributing to the concept development phase of Maritime Situational Awareness, aims to provide a working demonstration of how semantic technology can be exploited across NATO to provide case-based investigation around entities of interest in real time by bringing disparate data together on demand into a single consolidated view.
